Questions about the scholarship should be directed to the Financial Aid & Scholarships Office.

Description: The scholarship is awarded during the student’s high school senior year and provides institutional support to incoming ASUJ students who meet the stated criteria.

  • Administered by ASU Financial Aid & Scholarships.
  • Targeted to high school seniors entering ASU–Jonesboro.
  • Award terms and availability depend on funding.

Eligibility

Eligibility is limited to U.S. citizens who are graduating from high school and meet admissions requirements. Applicants must submit an admissions application, official ACT or SAT scores, and an official six-semester high school transcript. Scholarship consideration requires an ACT composite between 25 and 27 and a minimum six-semester high school GPA of 3.250. Matriculation to ASUJ must occur in the Fall semester immediately following high school graduation.

Eligibility: Applicants must be U.S. citizens graduating high school, admitted to the university, and meet the stated ACT and GPA thresholds.

  • U.S. citizens only.
  • Must submit admission application, official test scores, and six-semester transcript.
  • ACT composite 25–27 and six-semester GPA ≥ 3.250 required.

Award Details

The ASTATE Pride Scholarship awards a tuition and housing package based on ACT score tiers and is applied to courses taken on the ASU–Jonesboro campus. Housing awards are contingent upon availability of on-campus housing and recipients who decline residence hall placement do not receive an off-campus cash equivalent. The scholarship is awarded for up to eight consecutive semesters or until the undergraduate degree is completed, provided renewal criteria are met.

Award Value: Annual award amounts (split between Fall and Spring) are: ACT 27 — $3,500 plus up to $3,720 housing; ACT 26 — $3,250 plus up to $3,720 housing; ACT 25 — $3,000 plus up to $3,720 housing.

  • Award applies to ASUJ campus courses only.
  • Housing allowance depends on on-campus availability.
  • No cash equivalent if student declines residency.

Application and Timeline

Students must apply by the published deadline in their senior year and meet admissions submission requirements. The scholarship application deadline is December 1 of the high school senior year; award letters are mailed the third week of December. A limited number of awards are available, and accepted recipients must formally accept the offer by the stated deadline to secure the scholarship.

Application Timeline: Scholarship deadline is December 1; award letters mailed the third week of December; recipients must accept by May 1 (recommended within 30 days) or the offer will expire.

  • Apply and submit required documents by December 1.
  • Award letters mailed in mid-December.
  • Acceptance deadline for recipients is May 1.

Student Responsibilities

Recipients must follow enrollment, housing, and administrative requirements to receive and retain the award. Full-time enrollment of 15 ASUJ credit hours each Fall and Spring is required; concurrent enrollment elsewhere cannot be used to meet the full-time requirement. Housing recipients must purchase a meal plan, apply separately for housing, and pay the housing deposit; release from the meal plan may create room charges for the student.

Maintaining the Award: Students must accept the award by the stated deadline, enroll full-time on the ASUJ campus, follow housing and meal-plan requirements when applicable, and notify the Scholarships Office of any changes in plans or grade records.

  • Full-time status: 15 ASUJ credit hours each Fall and Spring.
  • Housing requires a meal plan, separate housing application, and deposit.
  • Enrollment elsewhere or full-time enrollment at another institution forfeits the scholarship.

Renewal and Retention

Renewal depends on academic performance and completion of required ASUJ hours each academic year. Students must maintain an overall 3.250 GPA and successfully complete 30 ASUJ credit hours (Fall and Spring combined) annually; accepted transfer credits are included in the overall GPA calculation. Students who do not meet renewal criteria at the end of the spring term may be given a probationary period through the end of Summer II to meet the standard, otherwise the scholarship will be forfeited.

Renewal Requirements: Maintain a 3.250 overall GPA, complete 30 ASUJ hours per academic year, avoid academic patterns that result in forfeiture, and satisfy probation requirements within the summer window if applicable.

  • Overall GPA required: 3.250.
  • Yearly credit requirement: 30 ASUJ hours.
  • Failure to meet criteria can result in immediate loss of the scholarship; probation rules apply for some recipients.
