Asbestos Scholarship

Asbestos.com provides a $5,000 scholarship to students who help raise awareness about cancers caused by asbestos exposure.
Eligibility
- Open to both undergraduate and graduate students
- Applicants must be at least 18 years old
- Must be enrolled full time at an accredited U.S. college or university
Essay and Application Requirements
- Essay length: 750–1,500 words
- Submission must include two letters of recommendation
Essay Focus
Asbestos is a hazardous mineral linked to mesothelioma, a frequently fatal cancer that affects more than 3,000 Americans each year. Your essay should illuminate issues related to mesothelioma and increase public understanding—topics may include the disease itself, current research, promising clinical trials, survivor and caregiver experiences, or other awareness-raising angles.
Selection, Publication, and Promotion
Winning essays will be posted on the scholarship page and promoted solely through Asbestos.com’s social media channels.
Payment
The $5,000 award is paid as a one-time disbursement and will be sent directly to the recipient’s school.
