Our education foundation and other outreach programs teach food- and farming-related lessons statewide. As specialists in food production, we prioritize educating local communities about the origins of their food.
Scholarships available
- Newberry County Farm Bureau Scholarship — One award of $1,000
- Eligibility: Rising college sophomore, junior, or senior from Newberry County enrolled in or planning to pursue an agriculture or agriculture-related major
- Deadline: Application must be submitted by the end of April

- Youth Ambassador Scholarship — Two awards of $500 each
- Eligibility: Members of Newberry County Farm Bureau between ages 18 and 22

Purpose and selection
These awards are intended to help young people from Newberry County farm families or with farming backgrounds pursue postsecondary study in agriculture or agriculturally related fields. The scholarships are also intended to encourage recipients to acquire the knowledge and skills needed for leadership roles in agriculture, civic life, and public service.
Selection will be based on character, demonstrated leadership, and a commitment to agriculture or related disciplines. Recipients will be chosen by a committee appointed by the Newberry County Farm Bureau Board of Directors and evaluated according to guidelines established by the Board.
Additional application requirements
- Awards are limited to students who will be sophomores, juniors, or seniors pursuing a bachelor’s degree in agriculture or an agriculture-related major.
- Each page of the application must be initialed by the applicant.
- A recent photograph of the applicant must be included with the completed application.
