Description
Perfect Plants is a family-owned nursery founded on the family farm purchased in 1980 and now run by second-generation growers. The company is committed to quality plants and customer education, and it actively promotes horticultural careers. In 2016 Perfect Plants launched the South East Regional Scholarship Program to support students pursuing horticulture-related degrees. The scholarship reflects the nursery’s goal to cultivate interest and professional development within the industry.

Eligibility
Applicants must be enrolled (full- or part-time) as incoming freshmen, sophomores, juniors, or seniors at a community college or university in a course of study leading to a horticultural career. A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 is required. Previous scholarship recipients are explicitly ineligible to reapply. Eligibility focuses solely on enrollment status and academic standing in horticulture-related programs.

Application Requirements
All applicants must submit a completed online scholarship application plus supporting materials by the August deadline. Required attachments include official high school or college transcripts, a 500–1,000 word essay addressing specified prompts, and two letters of recommendation from approved sources. Essay prompts ask about development of interest and experience in horticulture, a distinguishing attribute or accomplishment, an influential personal experience, and the scholarship’s financial impact. Letters must come from two of these: a faculty member, a horticulture professional, a community leader, or an employer/supervisor.

The program supports one-time awards only — recipients cannot receive the same scholarship in subsequent years.
