Application Timeline
Application Timeline: Applications open on a fixed schedule each semester. For the Fall semester the application opens May 12 and the semester begins August 1. For the Spring semester the application opens October 1 and the semester begins December 2. Eligibility
Eligibility: Applicants must meet specific academic, residency, and demographic criteria to qualify. Eligible candidates are Florida residents who belong to one of the specified racial/ethnic groups and are admitted into a state-approved teacher education program at a participating college or university. Candidates must be juniors, seniors, or graduate students with at least 60 credit hours or an AA degree, must not already hold a baccalaureate degree in Education, and must not have exceeded 18 upper-division education credit hours. Admission to an initial teacher certification program is required for graduate students.

Essay Topic
Essay Topic: Applicants must submit a short essay responding to the prompt: "How has the educational landscape changed over the past 5 years?" Responses should be concise and focused, between 100 and 300 words. The essay is used to evaluate your perspective on recent trends and developments in education and how they inform your interest in teacher preparation. Write clearly and support key observations with brief examples or rationale.
