Roy W. Likins Florida Scholarship
Scholarship Sponsored by American Water Works Association Florida Section
Throughout his life, Roy Likins was a committed member of the AWWA. For six years, he held the presidency of the Palm Coast Utility Corporation and for sixteen years, he served the utility in multiple roles. As a leader within the water industry, he held the chair of the FW&PCOA Region 9, while also participating in a variety of state committees, primarily focused on education and training. He organized the Florida Water Resources Conference in 1972 and later took on the roles of secretary, treasurer, and chair of the Florida Section. Roy was awarded the distinguished AWWA George Warren Fuller award in 1982. Besides his professional achievements, Roy was an active participant in his local community, with roles in the Jaycees, Flagler County Shrine Club, School Board, and the United Way.
Roy Likins passed away prematurely in 1991, aged 53. To commemorate his contributions and honor his memory, the Florida Section renamed its scholarship program as the Roy W. Likins Scholarship.
