Adams & Bischoff, a Charleston, SC-based criminal defense law firm, is committed to advocating for those who have been dealt an unfair hand. Our attorneys have devoted their careers to ensuring that our clients receive a fair trial. Additionally, we are deeply committed to supporting higher education. We recognize that one of the significant hurdles many individuals face today is gaining access to higher education, especially with the escalating tuition fees nationwide. We are determined to contribute to alleviating this issue.
Our mission is to offer a scholarship to a student who has surmounted challenges to reach their current position. We invite applicants to submit a well-crafted, 750-word essay detailing the obstacles they have encountered and how they have triumphed over them. The author of the most insightful and eloquently expressed essay will receive a $1,000 award to support their educational expenses.
Eligibility for the Scholarship:
Eligible applicants for this scholarship must be currently enrolled in a college or graduate school, or GED holders preparing to attend a college within the United States. Applicants must demonstrate good academic performance with a GPA of 3.0 or higher. The scholarship recipient will be selected based on their compelling essay and fulfillment of the application requirements.
- The scholarship is available to any current high school senior, vocational student, college student, or graduate student residing in any of the 50 states or the District of Columbia.
- Students must be enrolled in a vocational program or a two to five-year post-secondary institution for the upcoming academic year.
- Immediate family members (parent, child, sibling, and spouse) and persons living in the same households (whether related or not) of Adams & Bischoff staff and attorneys are not eligible to participate in the competition.
- A minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher is mandatory.
Requirements for Application
- The applicant must submit a 750-word essay detailing the challenges they have faced and how they have overcome them.
- The applicant must submit a professional resume outlining their professional and academic experience.
- The applicant must submit a transcript from their current school.
- First-year college students, graduate students, or individuals who have recently transferred schools must submit an official transcript from their previous school and an unofficial transcript from their current school.
- High school students must also provide proof of acceptance to their college or university.
Deadline for Application and Queries:
All application materials must be submitted by January 31, 2026. Applications received after this date will not be considered.
Applications submitted after the January 31st deadline will not be eligible for consideration.
