Leon Bradley Scholarship Program
Overview
The Leon Bradley Scholarship was created to promote greater representation in teaching and school leadership by encouraging individuals from under-represented communities to pursue careers in education. The American Association of School Personnel Administrators (AASPA) supports the value of diverse educator role models for all students.
Award Details
Each year AASPA may grant up to two Leon Bradley Scholarships. Awards are $3,500.00 apiece and are intended to help candidates who are pursuing their initial teaching certification endorsement.
Eligibility
Applicants must be working toward their initial certification/endorsement and must be entering their final year of completing those requirements (Final Year starting Fall 2025). This includes those who will be completing student teaching as part of their certification, if applicable.
Application submission
All application materials must be received by May 15, 2026 and sent to Karin Neckelmann at karin@aaspa.org.

- Completed application
- Copy of unofficial transcript
- Letter from the Dean of the College of Education or an authorized representative
- Letter of character reference
- Current resume
