About the scholarship
The Modern Mountain “Rise Up” Baking Scholarship supports students planning a professional path in Baking & Pastry Arts. Designed to help emerging bakers, the award offers financial assistance and a straightforward application to make the first year of your program a little easier. If you’re ready to “rise up” and launch your baking career, we’d love to help by contributing some seed money to get you started.
Who may apply
To be eligible for the Modern Mountain “Rise Up” Baking Scholarship, applicants must meet all of the following:
- Hold a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a current, official transcript.
- Be accepted to or enrolled in a Baking & Pastry Arts program at a U.S.-accredited post-secondary institution, college, or university as a first-year undergraduate student (part-time or full-time). You may submit your application while you are still applying to programs, but recipients must show proof of acceptance/enrollment by the application deadline of May 31, 2026 to remain eligible.
- Be a legal U.S. citizen.
Application overview
The application is brief and consists of written responses and documentation. Please provide:
- Short essay answers for each prompt:
1) What does baking mean to you? Describe the long-term goals or motivations that led you to pursue a career in baking and pastry arts. (Recommended length: 300–500 words.)
2) What is your best baking tip or trick?
- A current, complete transcript demonstrating a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Proof of acceptance or enrollment in a Baking & Pastry Arts program at an accredited post-secondary institution for the 2026/2027 academic year.
Notes
Applications may be submitted before program acceptance, but final consideration requires documentation of acceptance/enrollment by May 31, 2026. If you meet the requirements and are excited to begin your journey in baking, we encourage you to apply.
