Cameron Impact Scholarship
Scholarship Sponsored by Bryan Cameron Education Foundation
Introduction The Cameron Impact Scholarship is an annual, four-year award that pays full tuition, fees, and books for 15 outstanding high school students each year. Recipients are chosen for their strong academic records and for demonstrated leadership, community engagement, extracurricular excellence, and a clear commitment to creating positive change. Scholars are distinguished by their intention to shape their education around making tangible contributions to their communities and to the broader world. The scholarship may be used at any accredited U.S. college or university the student selects. Who may apply This is a merit-based program open to applicants of all backgrounds — regardless of race, socioeconomic status, religion, sexual orientation, or other characteristics — provided they meet the stated academic and citizenship requirements. We seek young leaders who show drive, achievement, and a sustained commitment to impact. Key details and application limit - We evaluate applications on a rolling basis. The program will accept a total of 3,000 completed and eligible applications. The application window will close when we reach 3,000 submissions or on May 1, 2026, whichever occurs first. Applicants should submit early. - The Foundation will post notices on its website and social media if the application cap is nearing. The Foundation is not responsible for technical problems that prevent last-minute submissions. Equity and how we view merit Our definition of equity means judging achievement in context. It does not lower standards or replace merit with financial need. Instead, we consider what an applicant has accomplished in light of the opportunities, resources, and challenges they have faced. High achievement by a well-supported student and comparable impact achieved by someone with fewer supports are both valid demonstrations of merit. All Scholars are chosen using this contextual lens. Why equity matters to our mission The Foundation aims to amplify impact, not merely distribute scholarships. Our experience shows that impact grows faster when talented individuals from varied backgrounds learn from and work with one another. Equity and inclusion help us: - Find remarkable leaders who might be missed by narrow measures of success - Create a scholar community that is stronger than its individual members - Encourage collaboration, shared learning, and mutual inspiration - Expand effect through networks that reach far beyond a single award Selection priorities and public service allocation Scholarship recipients are expected to have both the capacity and the intent to make sustained, measurable contributions over their careers. Approximately 25% (one quarter) of the scholarships will be reserved for applicants who indicate plans to pursue careers in education, the nonprofit sector, government, and/or the military and who express a professional commitment to public service. Eligibility requirements To be considered, an applicant must: - Have a cumulative, unweighted GPA of at least 3.7 on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent); - Be a full citizen of the United States; - Be a member of the high school graduating Class of 2027 and intend to enroll full time in an accredited, four-year U.S. college or university for the full academic year following high school graduation; - Demonstrate strong extracurricular involvement, leadership, a strong work ethic, and active participation in community service or civic activities; and - Submit the required application materials by the application deadline: - Completed online application; - Two letters of recommendation (one must be from current school-affiliated personnel); - High school transcript (an unofficial copy is acceptable). Application review, finalists, and timeline A Selection Committee will identify roughly 100 Finalists who will be invited to in-person interviews in Fall 2026 (interviews are typically held at the applicant’s high school). Final awardees will be announced in December 2026. Recipients are required to attend an annual Awards Ceremony for each year of the scholarship; the ceremony location rotates among different cities.
