Fran Bera Scholarship
Scholarship Sponsored by San Diego Chapter of the Ninety-Nines
The Fran Bera Scholarship is a tribute to the late matriarch of our San Diego Chapter, a respected FAA Designated Examiner, test pilot, aircraft saleswoman, and a record-breaking air racing legend who logged over 20,000 general aviation hours. Fran's impressive 69-year tenure with the Ninety-Nines was the seventh longest in the organization's history. She was a staunch supporter of female pilots, particularly those still in training. In line with her wishes, this scholarship is designed to support a committed and active member of the 99s in obtaining her Private Pilot certificate.
This scholarship offers up to $12,000 to aid the recipient in achieving this significant goal. Candidates must show active involvement as a member and provide a detailed plan to finish their training within a year.
