MyImpact Challenge
Scholarship Sponsored by Bill of Rights Institute
Overview
To enter the contest you must submit a civic-engagement project you conceived and carried out. Each entry must include three parts: a short essay linking your work to the contest’s founding principles and virtues; a project report describing what inspired the effort, how it was executed, and the results or impact; and visual evidence (either a video or a set of photos) showing the project’s effect on the community.
Who may enter
Open to U.S. citizens and young people based in the United States who are between the ages of 13 and 19 and enrolled in middle or high school on January 1, 2026. Individuals who previously won the MyImpact Challenge Grand Prize, First Prize, Second Prize, or Third Prize are not eligible to participate.
Project timeframe and eligibility
Your project must have occurred within the window from May 18, 2025 through May 3, 2026. Projects that were completed before May 18, 2025 are not eligible. Ongoing, multi-year initiatives are permitted: a project that began prior to May 18, 2025 can be entered only if its activities continue after May 3, 2026. Projects that remain active as of May 3, 2026 are eligible.
How to submit and deadline
All entries must be submitted through the MyImpact Challenge online portal. Submissions must be received by 11:59 p.m. PT on Sunday, May 3, 2026. Entries submitted by any other method will not be accepted.
Individual and group entries
The contest is intended for one student per entry, but up to five students may combine their work into a single group submission. Any prize awarded to a group entry will be divided equally among the listed members.
