GBV Educational Scholarship
Scholarship Sponsored by Glauber Berenson Vego
Introduction
Workers deserve to perform their jobs in a reasonably safe setting. Although certain occupations carry greater hazards, employers are still expected to take all reasonable steps to protect employees. Unfortunately, not every employer meets this obligation, and workplace injuries still happen. These incidents can have serious consequences beyond physical harm — medical bills can be costly, time away from work can deplete household income (especially if the injured person is the primary earner), and injuries — particularly those involving head or brain trauma — can also produce lasting emotional and mental health effects.
