Advancing Futures Dental Scholarships — $1,000 awards for 2nd, 3rd, and 4th year students
Applications open March 1 and close at midnight (11:59 PM) on May 31.
Overview
The Advancing Futures Dental Scholarships provide $1,000 awards to second-, third- or fourth‑year dental students who are active members of the Student National Dental Association (SNDA). Successful candidates will be in good academic standing, demonstrate active involvement in academic and extracurricular pursuits, show financial need, and exemplify strong character through genuine concern for classmates, patients, and the larger community.
Eligibility
- U.S. citizen or U.S. permanent resident.
- Enrolled as a 2nd, 3rd, or 4th year student at a U.S. dental school accredited by the ADA/CODA.
- In good academic standing.
- Active SNDA membership (local or national) with documentation.
- Demonstrated financial need.
- Record of community service and extracurricular involvement.
- Evidence of outstanding character and concern for peers, patients, and the community.
Required Application Materials
Submit all items below for your application to be considered:
- Official dental school transcript (must be official).
- Curriculum vitae (CV).
- Professional headshot/photo.
- A written request for consideration that outlines your research experience and notable graduate/professional school accomplishments.
- A letter from your SNDA national or local president verifying your current membership.
- Two letters of recommendation:
- One recommendation must come from your Faculty Advisor or the Dean of Student Affairs.
- Recommendations from family members, other relatives, or fellow students are not accepted.
- Completed Photo & Video Release Form.
Awardee Obligations
If selected, recipients must provide a short written quote and a 30‑second video expressing their appreciation within 30 days of notification. These materials may be used by the NDAF on its website and in other publications.
