Sara Scholarship

Introduction
The Sara Scholarship is accepting applications for the 2026 award year. The deadline to apply is April 30, 2026. In 2026, at least twelve (12) scholarships of $2,500 each will be granted to female high school seniors who demonstrate some form of involvement with the sport of golf.
Eligibility
To qualify for the Sara Scholarship, applicants must:
- Be female.
- Be a high school senior who intends to graduate at the end of the current school year.
- Intend to enroll and meet admissions requirements at an accredited college or university in the United States.
- Have a minimum cumulative unweighted GPA of 3.3 on a 4.0 scale.
- Demonstrate financial need.
- Show strong character and active participation in the sport of golf. Playing ability is not required. Acceptable examples of involvement include, but are not limited to: playing golf recreationally or on a team, working at a golf course, serving as a caddy, working in a pro shop, or any other direct, hands-on engagement with the game.
Required Application Materials
Your submission must include all items below:
- Completed Sara Scholarship application form.
- Official high school transcript (must include Fall semester grades from your senior year).
- Personal essay (see Section VI of the application for topic/requirements).
- Copy of your Student Aid Report (SAR), including the Student Aid Index (SAI). Note: to obtain the SAR/SAI you must first file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) with the U.S. Department of Education.
- It is important to complete the FAFSA as early as possible because processing takes time and state deadlines vary. After processing, the Department of Education will provide your SAR outlining your eligibility for aid.
- One (1) letter of recommendation from a high school teacher, counselor, or school administrator (for example, a principal). As an alternative, you may submit a single letter from a local business or other professional individual. Only one letter of recommendation will be accepted.
Submission Deadline and Mailing Instructions
All parts of the application and supporting documents must be placed together in the same envelope and postmarked on or before April 30, 2026.
