Introduction If you are a high school senior or an adult residing in Upstate New York or Northern Pennsylvania, you may qualify for scholarships offered through the Community Foundation of Elmira-Corning and the Finger Lakes. Applications open on November 1, and most scholarship cycles have a deadline of February 1 of the same year. Purpose and who funds the awards Donors — including individuals, families, and businesses — create scholarship funds at the Foundation to help local residents pursue college degrees or develop vocational skills. Each scholarship has its own set of eligibility criteria, so please review the specific requirements for any award you plan to apply for. Our philosophy and support The Community Foundation’s goal is to reduce financial obstacles to continuing education. We believe charitable resources are most effective when they expand access to post-secondary learning, and we are available to guide you through scholarship and college-application steps.
