Injury Advocacy Scholarship

Scholarship Sponsored by Schlack & Bassmaji

Value: $1,000
Awards Available: 1
Deadline : Sep 01, 2025

Schlack & Bassmaji recognizes the devastating impact a severe injury can have on your life. The financial burden of medical expenses, lost income, and the time needed for recovery can be overwhelming for you and your loved ones. It's crucial to be as prepared as possible for these unforeseen circumstances, but unfortunately, that's often not the case.

Injuries can occur anywhere–on the roads, at work, or even in your own home–we're interested in hearing your stories. It's vital to highlight the frequency of injuries resulting from another person's negligence.

That's why we're launching the 2025 Injury Advocacy Scholarship, designed to spotlight injuries caused by someone else's fault. We invite you to submit your application and share your experience before the September 1, 2025 deadline to be considered for this opportunity.

Who Can Apply?

  • The scholarship is available to current high school seniors, vocational students, college students, or graduate students who are legal residents of the U.S., residing in any of the 50 states or the District of Columbia. Applicants must be enrolled in a vocational program or a two- to four-year post-secondary institution.
  • Employees of Schlack & Bassmaji, their immediate family members (including parents, children, siblings, and spouses), and individuals living in the same household (whether related or not) are not eligible to apply.
  • Applicants must maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0 and be in good academic standing.

How to Apply?

  • The applicant must complete the form below with all required information
  • The applicant must submit a 750-1,000 word essay responding to the following prompt: Have you or a loved one suffered an injury due to someone else’s negligence? Have you assisted someone who has had such an experience? Share your story and the aftermath of the injury you're discussing. How have you championed the safety of the injured person? Have you taken community initiatives to better safeguard those who are injured? What measures do you think could be implemented to better protect the rights of injured individuals? How would your life be different if you hadn’t had this experience?
    • Please be aware that all essays will be screened for AI writing. If AI writing is detected in the essay, the application will be disqualified.
  • The applicant must submit a professional resume detailing their professional and academic background.
  • The applicant must provide a transcript from their current school. First-year college students, graduate students, or individuals who have recently transferred schools may submit an unofficial transcript from their current school and the most recent official transcript from their previous school. High school students can provide proof of acceptance to their college or university.
  • Preference will be given to students from or attending the state’s secondary school.

The 2025 Injury Advocacy Scholarship recipient will be selected in the month following the scholarship deadline. Only one scholarship will be awarded.
