The Pacific Forest Foundation (PFF) extends its scholarship program to students pursuing studies in fields related to forestry. To qualify, students must be residents of any western states (CA, WA, OR, ID, AK, AZ, NV, UT, WY, MT and CO), British Columbia, or New Zealand. The application period commences in January each year, with a deadline of May 1st for all submissions to reach the PFF office.
Each year, PFF aims to grant between 5 and 10 scholarships, with individual amounts ranging from $1,000 to $3,000. These funds are intended to assist with tuition and book expenses. The scholarship money is sent directly to the recipient's educational institution and deposited into their account. If the recipient does not enroll in a university, community college, or trade school during the year the scholarship is awarded, the total scholarship amount will be reverted back to the Pacific Forest Foundation.
The PFF scholarship committee reviews all applications, with the final selection of recipients taking place at the PFF Summer Board Meeting in July. Recipients will receive notification via mail after this date.
To be considered for the PFF scholarship, applicants must adhere to the following criteria:
Applicants must be engaged in the following fields of study:
- Forest Engineering
- Forest Management
- Forest Operations Management
- Heavy Equipment Maintenance and Welding
- Resource Management
- Diesel Mechanics
- Welding
- Other forestry and timber industry-related studies
Your application must be submitted online and received by the PFF no later than May 1st of the academic year for which you are applying.
