Scholarship Sponsored by SBB Research Group Foundation

Value: $2,500
Awards Available: 12
Deadline : Aug 31, 2025

Criteria for Qualification

For students to qualify for this scholarship, they must satisfy the following conditions:

  • They must be full-time students currently enrolled in a college/university in the United States.
    • Incoming high school seniors or freshmen are not eligible to apply.
    • Freshmen can apply only during the Winter and Spring quarters, not during the Summer and Fall quarters.
    • Seniors who won't be attending a graduate school in the United States cannot apply for the Spring quarter.
    • They must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 (on a 4.0 scale), which can be verified by an unofficial college transcript. If the college uses a different scale, the GPA must be converted accordingly.
  • They must be pursuing a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM).
  • Immediate family members of current SBB Research Group employees are not eligible to apply.
  • Students who have not previously won the SBB Research Group STEM Scholarship can re-apply, but they must submit a different essay for each subsequent application.

Deadline for Application

Applications are evaluated every quarter, and three (3) scholarships are awarded each quarter. All finalists will be informed of their status via email according to the schedule provided below. A total of twelve (12) scholarships, each worth $2,500, will be awarded throughout the year.

Selection of Winners

The SBB Research Group Foundation is interested in your response, in 500 words or less, to the following question: What have been your most significant experiences in STEM and how will you use STEM principles to improve the world?

The SBB Research Group STEM Scholarship Committee (the “Committee”) will award one (1) $2,500 scholarship through the following process:

  • The Committee will choose the eligible candidate with the best submission, at its sole and absolute discretion.
  • Once notified by email, a candidate will have one (1) week to accept the award. If the candidate fails to accept the award within one (1) week, they will be disqualified, and the Committee will select a new candidate by repeating the previous steps.
  • Acceptance of the award may come with additional requirements set by the Committee and/or the student’s college, university, trade school, or design school.
  • The Committee reserves the right to request further information from you, including but not limited to documentation in support of the information you provide.
